• It was discovered in 1814 by scientist Humphry Davy by reacting potassium chlorate with hydrochloric acid.
• Jim Humble, as you probably know, was the one who made it world famous. Jim’s story is a powerful one and I will tell it briefly:

Jim was with his team in the Guyanese jungle to mine for gold, as that was what he was doing at the time. They were misinformed and didn’t know that they could be infected with malaria in that area, so they didn’t take any precautions. It turned out that two of the men in his team became seriously ill with malaria, with high fevers, headaches, diarrhoea and so on.

With no medicine to treat them and the urgency of the situation, as they were in the middle of the jungle and 400 km from the nearest hospital, Jim decided to give them a product he had for drinking water called stabilised oxygen (which is 2.5% sodium chlorite), used to kill all kinds of pathogens in water without affecting their health. Jim decided to give them a product he had for making water drinkable called 
stabilised oxygen (which is 2.5% sodium chlorite), used to kill all kinds of pathogensin water without affecting human health, and he thought: “if it’s good for making water drinkable and we are 70% water, maybe it will work to cleanse the body of these pathogens as well”, so he gave them the product.

The result was that 4 hours later they were fine, with no symptoms at all, being one of the worst infectious diseases!

After a short time he himself also became ill, he repeated the process and it worked again! This was Jim’s discovery and what he christened MMS (Mineral Miracle Solution) later became MMS (Master Mineral Solution).
